WHO IS IT FOR?

The PHOTOSHOP TRAINING is ideal for published, working photographers who want to manage their workflow and get better image optimization. If you're interested in image quality, colour control and want to learn how to get the image to pop off the page and still be possible to reproduce beautifully, this is the training for you. As a trained photographer myself, I have great affinity with photographers, and a real passion for the medium. I also enjoy teaching art directors, designers – anyone who is a dedicated professional image maker working with the photographic image.

The RETOUCHING TRAINING is for those who are already retouching, producing results with varying levels of success, wanting to improve. You must have proved to yourself that you really have the talent and patience for retouching. This way you know that all those hours sitting by yourself in a darkened room are going to be worth it. I will ask to see samples of your work before I do any retouching training (images are transmitted by arrangement, please do NOT send attachments). If you're already a retoucher, you may want to brush up on certain skills, and find ways to work faster, better. I do not train people in retouching unless they can prove a certain level of general Photoshop proficiency, and I never commit myself to train anyone from scratch as a retoucher.(That would be an apprenticeship!)

WHO IS IT NOT FOR?

If you're a beginner, it's much better to go on a course, with loads of hands-on practice time. The information I impart during a 1-1 session is too much to retain for a novice who hasn't got the necessary Photoshop references. What I teach is aimed at the working photographer or retoucher, whose work actually gets reproduced - not just for a portfolio. There's a world of difference between the reality of working for/with clients, and shooting/retouching for a portfolio. My training is not a way to fast-track anyone to become a retoucher. It's much more about in-depth and problem-solving. I reserve the right to say NO to training those I believe will not benefit from it, as it would be a waste of your time and money, and ultimately very dissapointing!

WHO IS TEACHING IT?

I'm a (deliberately) lapsed Adobe Certified Expert! Instead of sitting an exam for each CS version these days, I write a new book for each upgrade. This keeps me on my toes. Having trained countless people and courses in Photoshop since 2002, I teach what I know, and I teach what I do.
