- Advanced Photoshop Magazine review, Rated 9/10 for Digital Retouching, CS4:
- "The title is absolutely comprehensive and completely methodical... The e-book pages are littered with postproduction tips, not purely digital practices... Gry Garness stamps her quality and professionalism all over this title's creative techniques".

- "Presentation of the retouching concepts is excellent. Her (British) voiceover is extremely polished and she does a great job of explaining advanced technical material with correct Photoshop (PS) terminology you can understand. The accompanying video is excellent, with keystroke tips that pop up from time-to-time.". Read article...

- "It’s hard to fault the DVDs – so I apologize for a gushing review – but it is so refreshing to find material and a trainer with a clear technical understanding of the medium, and a flow that maintains quality in a digital image from capture to print... (the) DVD has great material and Gry has a lovely voice.". Read article...

- READER TESTIMONIALS
- ... Ok after reading the entire book I have to say one word! EXCELLENT!! very clear, concise and lots of great tips and advice. I learn't different ways of approaching things and picked up ways of working which are more efficent and produce better results. Overall everything is simple to understand in a language that is excellent for beginners and intermediates. The only down side is you are not supplied with the images used in the examples to practice on and replicate the tutorial steps. That aside a very good book.

- ... Gry, thank you for this amazing e-book! I absolutely LOVE it, you sure have a lot of talent and knowledge.
-
- ... I've known Gry's site and her work for some time - so I had no hesitation in picking up a copy of her books. Having spent some time with them I can say that they're excellently written and presented, demonstrate a high level of know-how and offer great value for money. You're getting expertise and know how from a top retoucher here. Buy them before she puts the price up. One great advantage to the way Gry has delivered the books is that the images in the pdf are high resolution - so you can usefully zoom in well beyond 100% for a close up look - something that's impossible in a printed equivalent of course. I've no connection to Gry. I'm simply writing as a satisfied customer.

- ...I have all 3 books and I am very impressed with all them. Currently reading the retouch book and its amazing. I recommended to everyone.
-
- ... I bought the color and retouch pdfs, really great info in there Gry thanks so much for taking the time to write them.
-
- ... Hi Gry I have read and tried out some of your chapters in the book and I think it is brilliant, so much so that I have even adopted some of your methods whilst keeping a couple of my quick fix ones.
-
- ... I've found your colour management book invaluable. Unlocking all those little doubts and clarifying them so I feel confident talking about it. And by the looks of it the retouching book is going to surpass its predecessors by far.
-
- ... I bought it. I think that a lot of work went into this book. A lot of HARD work. The images and quality are great. The before and afters are helpful. This book covers so much and all that it does cover I am interested in... glad I popped in and saw this posting. I can say I highly recommend it and would buy it again.

- ...your book is freaking awesome. I am constantly amazed at seeing how a guru like yourself approaches their work flow. Even concepts and techniques that I am fully aware of, I love to read from your perspective on your approach.. as often I find that I can learn from others little things that I may over look or just some things I have not considered..

- ...I just downloaded the book and took a quick scan from 1 to 190. Looks like an absolutely excellent work! You have covered all of the key areas of this type of retouching in one well wriiten, well illustrated, document. It's really great to have it all in one manual. Best wishes for successful sales.

- ...Gry, I just bought the book and all I can say is "WOW!" After a cursory glance through, I found the photo on page 117. I love this style and was curious as to the exact effects you used in the book on this image since the images itself doesnt seem to appear in the technique overviews (I hope I didnt overlook it).

- ... in that case buy Katrin Eismann's Photoshop Restoration and Retouching and Gry Garness's new ebook. Both are awesome if you have the patience to work through them. I am willing to bet that for less than half the price (buying both) you'll probably get more than double the information from them than from that DVD, these things never live up to their advertising.
-
- ... I downloaded the e-book previously mentioned and it's great! Definitely what I was looking for! Thanks!
-
- ... I recently decided it was time to brush up my retouching skills, after receiving a huge post production bill. Looking on Amazon its quite a maze. Lots of books to chose from ....Then I found Gry Garness's Digital Retouching e book. This is no nonsense, in depth retouching book for fashion, beauty & people. 191 pages !!!!! Really useful for anyone who works in image creation ,where images are required to be finished to a high standard.
-
- ... I've just downloaded and browsed these eBooks and am astounded by the the in-depth training with complete pertinence to the photographer and his workflow. Just what I always wanted and could never find. Thank you so much for the recommendation.

- ... Hi. Just a quick note to say that this is a fantastic book – definitely one of the best retouching books I’ve read.
-
- ... The tutorials really made sense. I like skimming through the bold text to get the general idea before I really delve in and I think the way you unified the Mac/Windows command-strings was a really good idea. In other books I wouldn't know what keys to press but here it's really instinctive. I found the text really easy to read. It sinks in like butter. Thanks for making the ebook printable too.
-
- ... Colour management finally clicked for me. Finally... I get it. Thanks for making it so down to earth.
-
- ON MODEL MAYHEM:
- ... I have the color management book and the retouching book. Slowly going through it as I have time. It's not too long and not too short. I like her writing style and I'm getting a lot out of it.
-
- ... I have her ebook, "Digital Retouching for Fashion, Beauty & Portrait Photography in Photoshop CS3." I'd say it's a pretty good book. It covers an aweful lot of ground that most books only touch on or don't even bother to mention. It'll start off by laying out the basics of using various PS CS3 adjustments and techniques and then continue on to the fairly in-depth subject matter. Some of the topics include several different methods of retouching skin from the "unashamedly artificial," to reduction of pores, faking a golden tan (she provides a custom gradient for this), using seamless skin patterns, reducing arm and leg hairs, a digital powder finish, then goes on to enhancing eyes, eyebrows and eyelashes, retouching lips, hands, hair, hair roots and whole lot more! Every technique is provided with high quality examples highlighting the effectiveness of the techniques. Being an ebook, she also gives the option of printing the pages for a hard copy alternative. Over all, I'd say pretty damn good book that any one serious about retouching should own. As for any of her other books, I can't say because I haven't looked through them. That being said, if they're anything like the above, more likely, they're worth owning as well.
-
- ... I bought this ebook and can thoroughly recommend it. Great layout with the ability to hop to and from whichever article you need at that moment. No problems with the download either.
-
- ... I recommend it. OTOH, I also recommend Katrin' Eismann's Retouching and Restoration book. While they cover some of the same material, and use some similar techniques, there's a fair amount of non-overlap between the two.
-
- ... The eBook has a lot more about the detail retouching necessary for commercial and fashion work, while Katrin emphasizes portrait-level work, and doesn't go into anywhere near the level of detail as Garness does. OTOH, Garness' book doesn't go over shortcuts which are perfectly acceptable in most portraiture, which means more time will be spent to get acceptable results in those circumstances. Garness' eBook expects a slightly higher base level of knowledge than Katrin's does, though neither really demands that much to start with.
