Hi. Just a quick note to say that this is a fantastic book definitely one of the best retouching books I’ve read
The tutorials really made sense. I like skimming through the bold text to get the general idea before I really delve in and I think the way you unified the Mac/Windows command-strings was a really good idea. In other books I wouldn't know what keys to press but here it's really instinctive. I found the text really easy to read. It sinks in like butter. Thanks for making the ebook printable too.
I think that a lot of work went into this book. A lot of HARD work. The images and quality are great. The before and afters are helpful. This book covers so much and all that it does cover I am interested in.
Colour management finally clicked for me. Finally... I get it. Thanks for making it so down to earth.
This book really did join the dots for me, just like you promised. There's a string of logic going through the whole thing and I can clearly see the whole picture now... More Please!!!
WOW I've lernt so much AND as a bonus theres loads about tonal composition in photos too... and how to think about color.
You can tell that she actually practices and teaches the stuff she writes about. Let's face it... most photoshop books aren't written by photoshop teachers or retouchers. They're produced by geeks who like to show off their tricks. This is real-world stuff and I know I can apply it to hi-res professional images.
Your book is freaking awesome. I am constantly amazed at seeing how a guru like yourself approaches their work flow. Even concepts and techniques that I am fully aware of, I love to read from your perspective on your approach.. as often I find that I can learn from others little things that I may over look or just some things I have not considered.. Great job on a wonderful book..
Hi Gry I have read and tried out some of your chapters in the book and I think it is brilliant, so much so that I have even adopted some of your methods whilst keeping a couple of my quick fix ones.
I've found your colour management book invaluable. Unlocking all those little doubts and clarifying them so I feel confident talking about it. And by the looks of it the retouching book is going to surpass its predecessors by far.

The ability to zoom in on the document is particularly beneficial for beauty and portrait retouching. In fact the eBook format is ideal for retouching, as you can examine skin and features in much greater detail than in a print book. The images used here are all of a high professional standard, and all the techniques conform to good industry practice and are therefore suitable for work aimed at high-end reproduction. The wording is similar to what I use in verbal training. Every effort has gone into good communication, and making it easy to cross-reference pages through links, joining all those essential dots. The two Essential Color books go hand in hand, but can be enjoyed individually. The Retouching book stands alone, but most users will benefit greatly from the core skills that you'll find in both the Color books. There's a small degree of overlap between the Retouching book and the Essential Color Optimization, but mainly these books cover very different areas. See a limited Preview in Google Books.
